Absolutely loved the place, although the sliding door to the bathroom is basically broken and was a bit of a pain! Otherwise it was absolutely perfect...close to a neighborhood coffee shop, the water, the bus stop...loved it! Would absolutely come back.
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay in the Wallingford Garden Apartment! We are always willing to send someone over to repair or replace broken items, if we are notified during your stay. The pocket door to the bathroom should not be broken, so we thank you for your review and the repair has been made. We look forward to your next visit to Seattle!
It was a satisfying experience to deal with Sea to Sky rentals.
Our stay was so awesome. We stayed in Seattle for our daughter's wedding and the apt. was so convenient to prepare & store food We were located between our daughter's apt. and the wedding location. The apt. had all the conveniences of home!
We arrived in a little heat wave, so the apartment was perfect since it is a sort of semi basement suite. There is even a little outdoor area to drink tea in.
Grear for travelers with young children: friendly neighborhood, fantastic playgrounds (Wallingford and Meridian playgrounds), lovely gardens throughout the neighborhood and great location for catching buses with some walking to local destinations (8 blocks somewhat uphill to Wallingford center). We didn't bother having a car for most of the time!
The Garden Apartment was great! It has everything you need to feel at home. I loved the little extras in the home like the games. The location is also perfect. Wallingford is a fun neighborhood with nice homes, good places to eat and 2 small movie theatres. It is also close to the Freemont Troll which is a funky Seattle landmark. The Burt Gilman Trail is also great for jogging, biking and walking to get into the outdoors. I personally enjoy the calm neighborhoods more than downtown, so this was perfect. It also is only a car/bus trip over the bridge to get to downtown. I would suggest this home for a small group who wants to be in a nice Seattle neighborhood. I would definitely stay again.
Everything was more than adequate. This small apartment was convenient and in a great location. We will look forward to staying here when we come back again.
Great location--very convenient to Fremont where my meetings were held. Comfortable bed! Very nice cat--friendly but not pushy.
The Wallingford Garden Cottage was convenient, quiet and comfortable. The futon was fine to sleep on. There were only a few TV channels, so no cable here. Kitchen does not have an oven or dishwasher, but not a huge issue for a short stay.
We loved this little apartment. The location is the best!
I love this garden apartment! It's tiny, but WAY better than a hotel room with small children, because there are beds in two separate rooms, and then the kitchen and the laundry are fantastic to have. When we arrived there was a problem with the bathroom door, but they fixed it two days later.
We only hope it will be available to us on future visits.
I'm glad you sent email survey since I have not had the chance to complete and fax the hardcopy. I definitely wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay. We have already recommended it to other family members. The location was great. The place was clean. The best thing for us was that we had our two year old girl and the place was nicely set up for families with little kids. Great place. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Not close to downtown shops and eats, but fine for any stay in Seattle, took us under minutes to drive to Seattle Center. The garden is clean and green. Watch out for low ceilings if you're tall like me.
This is a neat apartment with everything one needs. There are buses nearby and it's a short drive to the U-district, so all in all very convenient for shopping and activities. The only constructive criticism I could think of is to have the living/TV room area less cluttered - it has a lot of books and games but it's a small space. We plan to come back other times.
After living in Seattle for 8 years, I wanted to come back to visit and feel like I lived there again. This apartment did the trick. Great place for families too.
The apartment was on the bus route which was great, and it was in a lovely area,we would highly recommend it to anyone.(will stay there again next time we come to Seattle if its available).
We found the futon sofa and the futon bed to be extremely uncomfortable and hard on our backs. However, absolutely everything else about the property was wonderful. A new bed and sofa are in order. Then it would be perfect. The company did not provide us wth the DVD's that we had selected.
My Husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Wallingford garden apartment. The neighborhood was great and with in walking distance to several great resturants. The apartment was comfortable and clean.
If ever I need a place to stay again in Seattle for an extended period I will defiantly look into staying at the Wallingford again. It was close to campus and just a block away from the bike trail.
I loved the apartment and it's location. I already emailed the info to a friend. I wish the bed was slightly larger and softer other than that a great little place for a great price.
Very cute place, lots of toys for my 2 year old to play with. Their outside cat is super-friendly, my son kept wanting to go outside to see the kitty cat. Nice and cozy, stayed comfortable despite the cold, damp weather. Great location convenient to I-5 and other neighborhoods. Lots of good restaurants in Wallingford, too.
It was very nice to stay in Wallingford and it was a short walk up to 45th St or down to Gasworks Park and Lake Union. It is a basement suite with presumably no insulation in the floor, so noise from upstairs can be an issue at night and in the morning. With a deck above the entrance, the suite stays fairly dark all the time. The suite is in reasonable shape but is due for a freshening; e.g. replacement of the living and dining area furniture (futon is totally worn out), new pans (teflon starting to lift), new water glasses (only two left), new shower stall (floor permanently dirty), venetian blinds on all windows. Linens were clean and in good condition. A duvet would be helpful for the bed, the bedroom gets cool at night (only heater is on the opposite side of the suite at the entrance) Street parking was always available close by.
A lot of the dishes & pans either had fingerprints or grease or nasty stuff all over them; I had to wash everything before we could use them. The floor was dirty, and the property had a "lived-in" look to it. I was surprised that there had been a cleaning lady b/c it didn't look like it. We never saw the manager, and the only contact we had was her calling us to tell us to keep the TV volume down (it wasn't even 10 p.m. yet). She acted more like a cranky old landlady than a property manager. We loved the location (20 min. bus ride to Uni of Wash & on a quiet street), but would have liked something closer to a grocery store (we didn't know if there was any closer to us than the one 1 1/2 miles away b/c there was no map for things like that. I would have liked to know if there was one we could easily walk to b/c we like walking to get our groceries). I would have liked some kind of map for things like stores, movie theaters, dry cleaners, and other things one needs to live in the area (even if it's only for a week). The best thing this property had going for it was the bed and the price.
Unfortunately this apartment is dark, cramped and generally uncomfortable, facts which were not evident from the photos on the Sea to Sky website. The futon sofa/bed has seen better days and needs replacing. The promised wireless internet access was not available with the property managers (Sea to Sky) and the property owner referring us to each other to get the problem fixed! The kitchen stocked only 3 wine glasses, one of which was chipped, and the toaster oven did not work. The condition of the apartment, the fact that Sea to Sky charged us twice for the holiday and failed to respond to complaints means that I cannot recommend the apartment or the company to other vacationers.
Guest was not double charged as stated. Her credit card on file was declined for the final balance. She gave us a different card to charge the balance to. We went over this a couple of times with her. She continues to state she was double charged and that her husband had to refute the duplicate charge with their credit card company. We received no notification from our credit card processor of any refuted charges and have checked all of our recordkeeping with a fine tooth comb to verify she was not accidentally double charged. It's unfortunate the guest did not call with any complaints during her stay. She notified us of these issues after she left. We promptly tested the toaster oven and the internet and both were working fine. We've also added 4 new wine glasses.
