We were in Seattle to see our daughter perform and loved watching the activity on the water and view was great. The traffic was a little noisy for us country folks, but other than that we loved it.
We had previously stayed in 1520. We moved up to 1620 thinking it would be exactly the same, only one more floor removed from the street noise below. The configuration of the master bedroom was quite different and not nearly as much to our liking. However, it was a bit quieter. Other than that, it was a wonderful family experience for us.
Sea to Sky Rentals was great. There was some confusion with picking up a box that was shipped beforehand and getting a high chair that fit a pedestal table, but everything was taken care of quickly. It was great to have a stackable washer/dryer in the unit...we used it everyday in this rainy city! The view of the ferries was fantastic. The location was also great...we walked to Pike Place market and to the monorail terminal several times.
Had a fabulous gals' getaway in Seattle with my sisters, and this property's location is the best! Walk to Pike Place Market, Seattle Center, Aquarium, wharf, and Pioneer Square. Seattle Art Museum and cute coffee houses right across the street. Best of all, the view of Puget Sound from the windows and small balcony is stunning. You can even see Mount Ranier when the weather cooperates. Ferries to Bainbridge (and other islands), as well as the West Seattle water taxi are right here. Urban amenities with a glorious natural view. Excellent little market right next door run by super-nice people. In fact, everyone in Seattle treated us with warmth and respect during our visit. We all just loved the city and our deluxe apartment in the sky! The only reason I do not give a five star rating based on property condition is that we traveled during a record heat spell and there is no central AC. However, a portable unit and fans were provided, and we were able to cool off. Due to the property's urban location, expect traffic noise from below. The view from the master bedroom and living room is drop-dead gorgeous, and the sofa bed is even comfortable. Twin beds in second bedroom can be converted to queen. Very nice kitchen and baths. Very nicely furnished, pacious and comfortable--better closet and dresser space than my home! Our group of four just loved it. Large groups could even rent multiple units in the building. The balcony would not be a good place for small children but would otherwise be family friendly.
This condo was perfect for some first time visitors to Seattle. We were just steps from most places that we wanted to visit including Pioneer Square, the pier to catch the ferry to Bainbridge Island, and Pike Market. The views of the bay, the mountains, and the stadiums were great. We were in Seattle on three very hot days (high temps in the 90s and no rain) but the condo did cool down just enough to be comfortable in the evenings with the use of fans in the bedrooms -though it was warm. The traffic noise is quite loud so the fans were also good to help block out that noise at night. It would not be possible to sleep with the windows open for this reason. The condo was very, very clean and parking in the underground garage was convenient.
Very central location. Some traffic noise due to location near freeway. Air conditioning inadequate for warm temperatures but if blinds were kept closed and air running all day it was bearable. It was very clean, no problems. Better lighting in living room to read by would be helpful and another comfortable chair.
We loved every minute of our stay in #1620. The Condo was lovely and provided all we needed, the location was perfect, we could walk to everything we needed or catch the bus. Thanks for a wonderful vacation
The location is excellent. The furnishings are dark and look very used. The kitchen is not equipped very well as far as pots and pans go. We have stayed in another unit there that was much nicer with almost the same view.
A perfect way to enjoy the best of Seattle as a tourist. We walked to the market daily to purchase fresh fish for dinner and ate, watching the sun set over the Olympics and the ferries on the sound. Great location.
The only reasons I didn't give all 5's were that 1) The upright blinds were in poor condition in the master bedroom, and 2) Check-in was a little confusing - I got sent from one desk to another and back again. Other than that, we loved the place! We could walk to everything, the view was fantastic, and for six of us the price was extremely reasonable. I've already recommended it to a friend.
location, location, location!!! beautiful views, close to everything. i will return to seattle sometime and will stay once again at harbor steps!!
The location, the condo, the decor, the assistance from staff were all superb!...but the view was ASTOUNDING! The negatives were and this was a pretty big one...most of the pots and pans were unusable because their bottoms were scorched/burned. Also, one of the lamps had a burned out bulb, and the front desk remedied that situation. The management compnay was great in that they delivered to us a new set of pots and pans the second day of our stay. help
This is the best possible location in Seattle and the most beautful ever from this condo, we really enjoyed it !
The condo was great. However, there needs to be at least one more chair in the living room. Your literature says the condo will sleep 6, but it sure won't sit 6 comfortably. We made it okay with only one hair dryer, but there needs to be a hair dryer in each bath.
What a super place---the view was awesome---the location was perfect---- right in the middle of everywhere the staff was very friendly and helpful If anyone ever ask about a place to stay or rent I will definetly suggest Sea to Sky Rentals and Harbor Steps I know if we ever go back to Seattle I know exactly who to call We(the 5 of us ) had a great time and would sure like to return Thank You
Unit has an awesome view. Close to everything. Even at 16 floors up you could hear some street noise, but no big deal. Only downside is air conditioner is not powerful enough and only in the dining/living room, none in the bedrooms. Harbor Steps concierge staff was extremely helpful and very nice. Sea to Sky Rentals were a pleasure to do business with. Would stay there again.
walking distance to pike market, seattle;s art museum and shops. Close to water also. only need air conditioning in bedrooms, otherwise a perfect place with a view
This condo was wonderful! I have never been happier with a place to stay than this! SUPERB LOCATION - Super Clean, Great Views, Excellent Service from Sea to Sky (Julie) and Concierge - Could NOT be happier. & close to EVERYTHING!
The view from the 16th floor living room of Elliot Bay is enormous and beautiful. Watching the ships and boats can be almost hypnotic. And out the kitchen window, if the clouds cooperate, you get a clear shot at Mt. Rainier. It's an easy walk to the market, the aquarium, ferries, shopping, etc. Washer/dryer in unit means you don't have to bring as much with you--especially great if, like us, you're traveling with kids. Pay extra for parking--it will add years to your life. The only slight negative is that all the traffic below (on land and water) can get kind of noisy and the windows don't do much to block it out. A minor gripe.
We were impressed with the property, the view, and the ammenities. The heaters are a bit noisy as are the windows but overall really enjoyed our stay and will do it again!
Location was perfect. The condo was very comfortable. We hope to be able to stay again.
We had a great time in Seattle and one reason was Harbor Steps. We walked out the front door to everything we wanted to see and do. The apartment had a fabulous view, tiny balcony for fresh sea air and everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Confusing parking garage and noise from traffic on the street below were are only disappointments. I would stay there again when visiting Seattle.
We had a beautiful view of the harbor from the 16th floor. We were within walking distance of many nice restaurants on the piers, a very nice aquarium, and Pike's Place fish market. I would definitely stay there again!
The view from our rooms was spectacular. All our expectations were met.
We enjoyed our stay at Harbor Steps. We were 2 blocks from Pike Market, across the street from the Seattle Art Museum and 1 block from the Docks (great restaurants, some shops and harbor cruises). We parked our car on the premises--very convenient, in and out with a passcard. The only complaints were the noise (it overlooks Puget Sound by way of the highway) and the temperature (the retrofitted air conditioning unit was loud and not effective). Since we were out visiting most of the time, this did not bother us too much.I would definitely go back.
Great location, great amenities, close to everything, fantastic view! Loved having coffee on the deck each morning while watching the ferries!
We enjoyed the location in downtown Seattle. The freeway noise below was quite noticeable, but it did not keep me awake at night. I personally prefer a firmer bed...but that was my only "complaint." We loved the space, the view and the location.
The location was wonderful and the condo views of the sound were unobstructed. The only drawback was the constant sound of traffic from intrastate #99 that was approx. 8 stories below our condo. The sound was more like white noise than an annoyance. The condo was clean and well maintained and the staff were helpful. I thought the location and amount of space were a good value for the rent.
Our stay was wonderful, the location was very convenient, and the unit overlooks the water, which is really nice; but it also overlooks the freeway/viaduct -- which is very noisy, even on the 16th floor. It makes sleeping somewhat difficult for light sleepers (especially in the "main" bedroom).
Great location!! Our only complaint would be the noise level from the street/viaduct.
I stayed there a year ago. So it is weird to be getting this review right now.
In Seattle during the heat wave - the condo definitely needs help with keeping the place cooler. Bedrms were stifling hot even with fan; vertical blinds do little to keep out heat - perhaps sunblocking drapes would be helpful. In order to have some air circulating had to open the windows, which meant it was extremely noisy, so much that it was not easy to have a normal volume conversation. The condo is very well appointed, and within walking distance of all we wanted. downtown. P.S. Nanaimo is spelled incorrectly below
The facility was nice enough from a cleanliness perspective, although my wife and I had to do some cleaning of the actual apartment when we arrived. Nowhere in the Sea to Sky description of the property, however, was an indication that a major highway ran along the apartment. In that there was not an air conditioning system that was effective in the apartment, open windows were the only choice. As Seattle is a major city, the traffic never stopped, especially truck traffic. As a light sleeper, this was nightmare-ish at best. For this reason, I'm not sure I'd use Sea to Sky again.
The location is great, but the apartment was very dirty. Dirty upholstery, walls, fridge, plates etc. The place looked great in the pictures, so it was a shock when we arrived. Either update your pictures or clean and paint the place.
